Diane Desrosiers, an Animal Control officer, came to the aid of 10 ducklings who strayed onto a road in Southgate, Michigan, after being separated from their mother.
To ensure their safety, she transported them in a pet carrier until she could formulate a strategy.
It was at this point that she devised a plan to take them to the South Winds Golf Club located nearby, where a wild duck named Stella had recently given birth to her own nine ducklings in a pond on the course.
Professional golfer Chris Grandy captured the scene as the ducklings were released into the pond, and he described what followed as “the most endearing thing I have ever seen.”
Stella promptly swam towards the ducklings upon their entry into the water, seemingly recognizing that they had been abandoned and required assistance.
When she gathered them together, they were quickly welcomed into her family as she led them back to her offspring.
