The couple operates a non-profit organization called The Mr. Mo Project. They understand that when dog owners are unable to afford these expenses, they may abandon or surrender their dogs to animal shelters. This realization motivated them to establish their own organization to ensure that senior dogs across the country receive the necessary care.

Chris and Mariesa have already saved countless dogs from euthanasia, providing them with medical treatment and helping them find permanent homes. However, the most exceptional care is reserved for the 20 dogs currently residing in their own home. To ensure the well-being and health of these dogs, the couple has already invested over $55,000 in customizing their house, transforming it into a safe haven for these furry friends.
The couple has invested in a $30,000 hydrotherapy pool to provide the dogs with low-impact exercise. Furthermore, they have purchased a custom king-sized bed worth $5,000 so that they can sleep alongside their beloved pups. Their home is equipped with dog-friendly features such as ramps, floor mats, plastic sheets, and more to ensure the comfort and well-being of their furry companions.
Caring for 20 elderly and special needs dogs under one roof can be challenging, but they handle it with finesse. “Living with 20 dogs is crazy, but we have a great routine and make it work,” Chris shared. The couple devotes 45 minutes every morning to feed the group and administer necessary medication.
The most challenging aspect is dealing with the veterinary bills. “We do our best to raise funds, but if one dog requires $20,000 worth of treatment, we will charge it to our credit cards and address the concern later. There’s always a vet bill to pay, but we’ve learned to cope with it, and despite the stress, it’s all worthwhile,” Chris explained.
