A lone foal was discovered waiting for its mother outside Steamboat Springs in Route County, Colorado. A group of horses approached the foal to provide companionship and prevent it from feeling isolated.
The ranch owner, Kally May, became curious after noticing the unusual behavior of her horses. When she discovered the horses looking after the newborn foal, she was deeply moved. May captured the heartwarming moment in photos to share with others.
Kally May reached out to wildlife officials when the mother horse remained unresponsive, causing concern that the foal may be orphaned.
She was instructed to reunite the newborn with his mother as it was believed she would return. Kally was overwhelmed with emotions when she discovered the mother and her baby reunited the following day. She expressed that the incident made her appreciate and cherish her horses even more.
