Yogi, a Shih Tzu-poodle mix (also known as a “Shih-poo”), gained significant attention after his photo surfaced on Reddit. Chantal Desjardins, the 27-year-old owner of Yogi, admits that she didn’t fully grasp his human-like appearance until her friends pointed it out after she shared a video of her family’s dog on Facebook and Instagram.
As for the type of dog Desjardins believes the one-year-old resembles, she tells PEOPLE, “I’ve heard comparisons to Nicolas Cage. And my friend Kristen mentioned Sean Astin.”
If you’re intrigued by the idea of discovering a dog that bears a resemblance to a human, Desjardin asserts that Yogi was acquired from a local breeder, although she refrains from disclosing the exact location. Yogi also has an 8-year-old sister named Darla, who might be slightly envious of the extensive attention he’s receiving.
Desjardins remarks, “She tolerates him.” Although he occasionally attempts to playfully engage with her, she remains unamused. Yogi is a fairly typical puppy.
