Cecilia selected her titled show dog, Miley, for breeding, and chose Astro Wonder Boy as the stud. As a responsible breeder, Cecilia provided Miley with veterinary care throughout her pregnancy. The vet had estimated that Miley would have three puppies based on x-rays and ultrasounds. Cecilia had a feeling that the number was off, but Miley remained healthy and happy, which was the most important thing.
After the gestation period was over, Miley started going into labor and Cecilia called the team of veterinary nurses she had on standby to assist with a safe delivery. To everyone’s surprise, after the 3 expected puppies were born, Miley continued giving birth to pup after pup. Astro Wonder Boy must have been truly remarkable because Miley gave birth to 18 healthy puppies, which shocked the delivery team.
The enormous litter made Miley break the Guinness World Record for the largest Dalmatian litter ever born. Typically, Dalmatian litters range from 8 to 10 puppies, and first-time litters are usually smaller, so this was an extraordinary accomplishment.
Mom and puppies were all safe and healthy. Despite Cecilia’s initial surprise, she was thrilled with the huge litter and had no problem taking care of all the dogs as any good breeder would. One thing we would like to ask her though, was she getting concerned that Miley was going to give birth to 101 puppies?
