It’s super famous that Hollywood stars, especially women, often feel the need to look young as they age. We often hear about the latest beauty treatments and routines that celebrities use to keep their youthful appearance.
Justine Bateman is an actress, director, and writer, best known for playing Mallory in the 1980s sitcom Family Ties, where she acted as a teenager.
She also had roles in Men Behaving Badly and appeared in shows like Desperate Housewives and Still Standing. Justine is also the older sister of the famous actor Jason Bateman.
Justine Bateman shared her thoughts in an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, saying, “I really don’t care.”
She added, “I think I look awesome. My face reflects who I am, and I’m happy with it.”
At 57 years old, Bateman, like many actresses, has felt the push to get plastic surgery. However, she has decided to accept her age and steer clear of any cosmetic work.
Bateman began to get mean comments about her appearance when she turned 40. Some people called her a “sea hag” or said she looked like a “meth addict,” which made her feel like she needed to change how she looked.
“I thought my face looked fine,” she told People in 2021. But those comments made her question herself and feel ashamed of her face.
In her book Face: One Square Foot of Skin, Bateman expressed that she feels “sad” for women who are really focused on changing their looks with cosmetics. She told 60 Minutes, “I feel sad they’re not just enjoying life. I feel sad that they’re so caught up in ‘fixing’ their face instead of concentrating on what they’re supposed to do in life.”
